Song a Week 2022 – Week 23: This is, in fact two songs that ‘segue’. In my twenties I was ill for 8 months with post viral chronic fatigue. Unable to stay awake for more than two hours at a time I spent my waking hours writing the lyrics for a musical based on Tess of the d’Urbervilles. The lyrics have sat in a folder for over 40 years! Now the first two songs have been recorded.

Song a Week 2022 – Week 18: Feeling my age this week. The song starts with an early memory of staying up late as a child, swinging in the garden on a summers evening. Then a bit of a life journey ensues. Some experimentation with brass on this song.

Song a Week 2022 – Week 17: A song about scientific vision, determination and resilience. Unable to fly but convinced that one day the problem would be solved and human flight would become possible.

Song a Week 2022 – Week 16: A touch of lo-fi alternative rock. Might simply be about getting lost in the mountains but more likely it’s cautioning against impetuous and unguided leadership.
