Song Week 2024 – Week 49 A song about never being in the limelight or at the forefront. The lost aspiration of youth. Quite frankly depressing but an experiment in electronica.

Song Week 2024 – Week 48 A festive tune telling the tale of a boy who is so determined to see Santa that he travels to Lapland on Christmas Day.

Song Week 2024 – Week 47 Using the ‘song a week’ prompt #46 (Freshwater Pearl) I worked on a chill-out track this week, interpreting a freshwater pearl as actually being made of water.

Song Week 2024 – Week 45 A ‘prog-rock’ response to the song prompt ‘Cardinal Direction’. The acoustic guitar and drum tracks were created using sample loops. I play the bass, synth and electric guitar parts on keyboards.

Song Week 2024 Week 44 Song a Week founder James Tristan Redding has just completed the challenge of writing (and singing to camera) a song a day for a leap year. That’s 366 songs between November 2023 and October 2024. Respect to you James. This is my tribute, with oblique reference to the group prompt for this week’s song writing round, ‘Falling Asleep in Church’.

Song Week 2024 – Week 42 I was moved by an article on BBC News about the arrest, detention and death of 27 year old journalist Viktoriia Roshchyna. It said so much about personal bravery and commitment, set against the despairing backdrop of oppression in occupied Ukraine and Russia, where life seems to count for so little. This is my small tribute.

Song Week 2024 – Week 41 The story of a loner, obsessed by the purchase of gadgets, who turns his addiction as a profitable enterprise, reviewing them on-line as ‘Unboxing Man’.

Song Week 2024 – Week 41: Originally an instrumental but now ‘the wordy version’ is created. If only our world was a better place because humans were better keepers of the planet.
