So here is my Christmas tune for 2025. Completely instrumental and ‘electronical’. Published early because it just arrived out of the creative ether yesterday. Released on major streaming platforms November 14th.

Song Week 2025 – Week 44: A ghost story about the consequences of temptation. A man befriends an ashen faced maiden whilst walking in the countryside but she is not all that she seems.

Song Week 2025 – Week 43: Never was transition of music genres between generations as vitriolic as the kicking that rock (particularly progressive rock) took from the arrival of the punks.

Song Week 2025 – Week 42: This song was written in 2021 and recorded using my basic skills at the time. So I thought I would revisit it, record and produce it again. I am pleased with both the performance and production. It is a simple comment about life chances and how badly they are affected by poverty.

Song Week 2025 – Week 40 I set out to make a dark song using synthesizer voices, Gary Numan style. I created all the music before I wrote a lyric. At this point it all went very ‘1984’ , in more ways than one. In part a commentary on the world today, in part a reflection of George Orwell’s lesson to all of us. Democracy is fragile, the other option is an absence of hope.

Song Week 2025 – Week 39: Inspired by the Bohemian principles of Truth, Love and Freedom as referenced in Moulin Rouge, which I saw on stage last week. Set against the current backdrop of growing ultra-conservatism.

Song Week 2025 – Week 37: Playing around with synths, I entered the world of seduction and hypnosis. An instrumental.

Song Week 2025 – Week 32: A direct response to the prompt from the Song A Week songwriter’s community. Again a drum led track. Comment on a world in which too many people think it is acceptable to harm others.

Song Week 2025 – Week 32: Writing in a different way over the next few weeks. Starting with a drum track, layering up the instruments then adding the lyrics & melody. A song about a steady guy in a bit of a tangle with the ladies or is it about driving cars? Your call.

Song Week 2025 – Week 28: Recorded at Airtight Studios, Manchester, on July 8th 2025. This version of Train Song is performed by Bernard Dady & Peter O’Hare. Bernard on piano & lead vocals, Peter on acoustic & electric guitar. Drums, bass and female backing vocals are taken from the live set recording and feature Graeme Genty, Chris O’Hare and Julia O’Hare. Produced by Danny Kehlenbeck & Cam Davey
