Song Week 2024 – Week 35 From an idea inspired by my grandson, Euan, who spent two years working in the escape room under his student flat. Somewhat trapped by circumstance, which is the main theme of the song. Just smash your way out if it gets that way – wait for the big bang at the end of the song.

Song Week 2024 – Week 34 Inspired by first meeting Alison in Adelboden, Switzerland (as teenagers), with echoes of Rivendell. A tribute to the magic of moonlight and the majesty of mountains. Recorded in a valley somewhere between The Moody Blues and a James Bond theme, with a light covering of Marillion. This song has been in my head since I was fifteen!

Song Week 2024 – Week 31 A reflective piece about coming through the ‘journey of life’ just fine.

Song Week 2024 – Week 30 This is the third iteration of this song. It was first written in 2018 as a slow blues number. I re-recorded it with a new vocal in 2022. Honestly, it was too long and slow to play live. I like the song and so when I tried it out live I moved it to this blues rock version. Now it motors along just fine.

Song Week 2024 – Week 29: With hindsight I think I have been exploring an idea for a TV theme here. As I have been reading espionage thrillers recently, the idea of spider webs and trapped spies crept into my subconscious. The result is an instrumental, partly rooted in appreciation of nature and partly the world of espionage.
