I set out to make a dark song using synthesizer voices, Gary Numan style. I created all the music before I wrote a lyric. At this point it all went very ‘1984’ , in more ways than one. In part a commentary on the world today, in part a reflection of George Orwell’s lesson to all of us. Democracy is fragile, the other option is an absence of hope.
